From the ochre-colored streets and buildings to the huge church atrium & the ancient Mayan pyramid in the middle of town, Izamal is a very special, charming place. Our route today takes us first east then north, towards the Gulf of Mexico. After an 80km ride, lunch is a real treat, at the beautifully restored Casona Los Cedros restaurant, where you can relax and indulge in top class cuisine. Then its on to Rio Lagartos, a small fishing village right on the water of the Gulf.

And of course, you can’t miss the crocodiles! Afterwards we cycle to the mesmerizing pink lagoons of Las Coloradas and a delicious local seafood lunch.
