Located just south of Tulum, Muyil offers one of the easiest ways to experience the extraordinary biodiversity of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve while enjoying exceptional birdwatching in one of Mexico's most important and beautiful protected areas.

Our morning begins by birdwatching through a traditional Maya community before entering the ancient archaeological site of Muyil. From there, we continue into the northern section of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, where a raised boardwalk crosses freshwater wetlands, seasonally flooded forest, and tropical jungle before reaching the edge of a beautiful lagoon.

These remarkably diverse habitats support an impressive variety of resident and migratory birds. Depending on the season, it is possible to observe between 50 and 80 bird species during a single morning excursion.

Guests wishing to discover even more of Sian Ka'an may extend the experience with an optional boat excursion across two lagoons followed by the famous lazy river float.
